Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier Other Breeds

Despite its reputation, the extraordinarily muscled American Pit Bull Terrier can be a wonderful family companion if bred for gentle temperament and trained at a young age. He can also be stubborn and aggressive. A minimum of training will produce a tranquil, good, obedient, companion dog.

Height: 18 - 22 inches
Weight: 30- 70 lbs.
Temperament: Temperament: Loyal, intelligent, obedient
Color(s): Variety of colors and markings including brindle, white with patches of color, black and red.
Grooming: Coat should be brushed once a week with a rubber brush.
Coat(s): Short, glossy coat.
With Children: Does well in a family environment if he/she has good breeding and is properly trained.
With Pets: Has instinctive hostility toward other animals. Early socialization with all kinds of people and animals is critical.
Training: Loves routines and will do best if required to stick to one. They have an average ability to learn obedience and low problem solving skills.
Exercise: This active dog needs a few long walks and some playtime in a secured area daily.
Health Issues: Reasonably free of genetic weakness.
Housing: A home with a fenced yard is recommended. He is not suitable for a first-time or inexperienced dog owner. He can be aggressive with other dogs.
