The
Jack Russell Terrier is a compact little dynamite dog. They
are an active, intense and very loving breed. Jack Russell’s
were bred to go to ground after vermin and they love few things
more. A small sturdy dog that enjoys most activities which
are fast paced and fun. A fearless, confident little dog that
needs constant supervision and a fenced yard. Many Jack Russell
have been known to climb out of their enclosures.

Jack
Russell’s are intense. Whether they are chasing vermin
down a hole, going after a ball or competing in fly ball, they
give it their all. A wonderful little dog that requires a lot
of training and direction for their energy. A high energy, highly
intelligent little dog that can steal your heart away. As adorable
as they are, they are not the dog for everyone. You must understand
that inside this little package, is a big dog. Although energetic
and constantly on the go, they love nothing better than to dive
under your covers at night or fill your lap on the couch. Jack
Russell love to be close to their family. They are not well
suited for a life with small children as they do not take any
sort of abuse and will retaliate. |

| Housing: |
The Jack Russell Terrier is fairly adaptable. They can adjust
to living in an apartment if close attention is paid to exercise
and activity. A bored JRT will get into trouble and find their
own form of entertainment. A home with a secure fence is best
suited for living with a JRT. Although a regular fence may contain
most, you may need a roof for a climbing JRT. |
