Breed: Miniature Schnauzer Other Breeds

The Miniature Schnauzer is a member of the Terrier Group and can trace its roots to Germany in the 1800's. It is believed the breed derives from the combination of Affenpinchers, the Poodle and smaller Standard Schnuazers. Originally bred to hunt vermin on German farms, today, the Miniature Schnauzer's friendly personality makes this breed dually suited for city, as well as country living.

The Miniature Schnauzer is sturdily built; proportionally square in body length to height. He is intelligent and possesses an eagerness to please. (Photo courtesy of the American Miniature Schnauzer Breed Club)
