The
standard poodle is the original. Miniature and toy poodles
were bred down in size from the standard. A highly intelligent
breed which will train you if you are not careful. Often this
athletic breed is mistakenly portrayed as a poofy dog; however,
they have great endurance. Their strong, agile build enables
them to adapt well to any activity or sport you wish to enroll
in. Appropriately named the ‘Pudel’
in Germany, meaning to splash in water, the Standard poodle
was the first water retriever. Standard poodles excel in obedience,
flyball, Frisbee, agility, Seeing Eye dogs, field and hunting
trials, service dogs and great family pet.
