Love My Vet? You Bet!
Hello, dear readers! The other day my mom came in from fetching the post (seems that sneaky fellow Bill is back up to his old tricks of hiding in the mailbox) and surprised us by saying, “Melody, Emma: you’ve got mail!” I was delighted (Emma was unmoved); fan mail perhaps? And then I saw it: a small, brightly colored postcard with a cartoon dog and cat on it. We get that postcard once every year and there is only one person who sends it. No, it’s not a fan. It’s…THE VET!

Call of the Wild: The Dulcet Tones of the Dog
. I know how frustrating it is to hear a word in a foreign tongue and not understand it. My parents are obsessed with this human word “no,” which I fail to comprehend. Maybe if I supply them with a Human to Canine translation, they will be more understanding when I simply must speak to the doorbell. And so, in the spirit of promoting Human/Canine relations and as acting ambassador, I give you an abbreviated version of the Human to Canine dictionary.

Whoa, Mama! A Quadruped’s Mothers Day Guide
I have the best mom in the whole world…and I’ll bet you do too! This month we celebrate Mother’s Day, a whole day dedicated to celebrating the most important human female figure in your life. Now, I know many people who think that doggie mommies don’t count; that Mother’s Day is only for people who have small humans. Well, I call Shenanigans on them. Moms of canines are some of the most dedicated, loving and doting people on the planet and I should know because I am the proud fur-kid of one. I don’t think it’s fair to leave out the doggie mommies so in the spirit of celebrating mothers of all varieties, here are some things that you can do to let your own mom know how much you appreciate her!

Homebound Hobbies
Hello again, dear readers! Well, April showers might bring May flowers but they also make you get soaking wet! I've never been a fan of rain and I'm guessing that your canine pal would agree with me there. Nobody has fun being dragged outside in the rain. And nobody likes a wet dog, especially the wet dog in question. But a pooch still needs her exercise and stimulation, so what's a human to do with her shut-in hound? Luckily, I have devised many fun activities that you can do right in the comfort (and dryness) or your own home!

Sniff Here Often?
Hello again, dear readers! My mom said this issue is all about breeding, which makes sense this time of year. Spring is in the air and so is love. I'm assuming that if you are reading this, you already know the dire importance of picking responsible breeders or choosing shelter dogs or rescues. You should also be well versed in the importance of spaying and neutering your pet. Doggiefun readers are, naturally, just very keen. So instead, I'd like to talk to the canines about...puppy pick up lines! Now's a great time to meet other dogs and make new friends! So, I thought that I would share some effective ice breakers to help you strike up a connection and friendship with your fellow hounds.
