Doggie
Name: Bruno - Retired Police Dog
Breed: Mastiff/Belgian Malinois Mix
Age: 10 Years
Crossed The Bridge: August 31, 2000
My Tribute: I was so lucky to get Bruno his remaining
years of his life after retirement. He was a police dog for
the City of San Jacinto. When his handler went to work for another
city, the City Council decided to retire him. The handler was
a good friend of mine, and asked me if I would be interested
in taking him cause he wanted him to have a family life. Bruno
was a character always playing games on everyone. He was 150
pounds, but was so gentle to every member in our family. It
was like he knew he was retired. His hips gave out, and he was
not living the quality life he deserved. We decided to put him
to sleep, and cremate him. The local paper published a beautiful
article in his memory. He is still on our dresser and I tell
him every night how much I miss him. I was blessed to have shared
the time I had with him, and I miss him dearly and feel I wish
I had more time with him. |
